       For my #BlackMastodon and anyone who wants to know, the "Oba" in my name on here was a term used by our ancestors for the kings who ruled the Oyo, Benin, and Ile-Ife Kingdoms in Nigeria 300 to 600 years ago. The "Orafifila" is a conjunction of a translation of my Anglo-Norman name: Wesley, into the semi-dead Nsibidi language. Nsibidi being one of the only known ancient west african writing scripts.

       These are the three symbols that represent the Nsibidi translation of "Wesley" meaning "west meadow" into the equivalent "Orie" + "Afifia" + "Ala" meaning "west grass land" in Nsibidi. This was basically my way of decolonizing my name. #BlackMastodon #Nsibidi

       There's a few industries in America that I have never understood being controlled by private companies. Namely:1. Healthcare2. Insurance (All types)3. Transportation (Cars vs. Public)4. Flights5. Utilities7. BanksEvery single one would be better for the people if 80% or more of that industry was run by a functional governing body or agency. #USpol #Government

       #MauiFire my lord. All of my wife's childhood and our friends homes just gone in hours. Her elementary school is gone. Her brother's barber shop gone...Was just planning to visit our in-laws at the end of the month. Luckily my wife's family is in Napili which is a few miles north of #Lahaina so no fire...yet. They are safe for now. Prayers every hour for #Lahaina and #Maui 🙏🏾💔
