@futurebird there’s got to be a mechanism that provides benefit for creating unbroken chains of worker ants.Like permitting the new worker to be placed into the position where an existing piece might otherwise be diagonally moved. Providing that worker is connected to the queen in the chain. Moving in unison along a trail.

@futurebird and now they’ve gone! Hopefully not just deeper into the circuitry. Nowhere remotely freezing this time of year in Adelaide.I don’t imagine it would take much moisture to count as a water source for these little ones. There’s always something damp somewhere in the kitchen.
