@ringo @victor I wouldn't say doctors are corrupt. They just practice what they learnt. I'm also hesitant to say that modern medicine is all bad. I've talked to a few in private and asked them specifically about the old ways of herbal medicine that were replaced in the last century and if they are really better. The answer was that they're simply not as effective when it comes to severe cases and people simply expect maximum efficiency. You can't considerably prolong lives in such cases. #medicine #health #doctors

@noyoushutthefuckupdad Did you play the game? :blobcat_owo: I played it, the original first game, less than a year before I got on the Fediverse because of how often I saw it over the years on the internet and because of how incessant some people were recommending it.It might be shocking to know that I found it overall "just okay" for the most part. In the end, it was interesting and I went for full completion, but it had a lot of plotholes and rather silly conveniences in regards to how things worked out, specifically the "genderbending". These tropes seem not to bother most people though. But what made the game really stick with me was the route where Okabe was desperate to keep things as they are, even as his soul was slowly dying. I could relate to it. The ending to it wasn't romantic, but bittersweet - melancholic, yet at the same time hopeful and optimistic. I consider it the "main route" for myself and even briefly considered ending the game at that point.#SteinsGate #VisualNovel #Games

What did you like about it more?It's one of those franchises where I wanted to play all the games released and only then watch the anime, but Spike Chunsoft, one of the most incompetent gaming companies I have ever seen, never let the Science Adventure series go on a sale where I would consider getting it. Even now, as I write this during the Steam Summer Sale 2023, STEINS;GATE ELITE costs $24 at 60% off. I wouldn't really care, since I considered this an absolutely unnecessary project, but Spike Chunsoft bundled Linear Bounded Phenogram, a collection of side stories, with it and there's no other way to get it otherwise.But ELITE also drives up the price of the Series Bundle, now at $42 even at 64% off. And that Series Bundle doesn't even come with My Darling's Embrace.And something that I can't get at all: 8-Bit Adv Steins;Gate, which is exclusively bundled with STEINS;GATE ELITE. Not to mention how their official translations are objectively lacking in quality and fans have to rely on the volunteer group Committee of Zero to fix them. One of their recent releases on the Nintendo Switch, HAOS;HEAD NOAH / CHAOS;CHILD, wasn't even playtested and the game hung up at the ending. People had to wait a month for a fix, if I'm not mistaken. This also heavily devalues the physical release. Truly incredible. #games #SteinsGate

@DocScranton In my defense: I'm away for weeks and months and don't seek out anything funny, since I am aware of how much of a timewaste it is. But as someone who never participated much in online communities in most of my time online before, genuine conversations and exchange of information still fascinate me to this day.

@Wrest @Moon Just so you know: According to howlongtobeat.com, it'll take around 143 hours for Royal for a complete finish, i.e. achieving everything. It's quite addicting. What's really fun is just seeing system's synergies, your social progress strengthening you in battles.It can be occasionally really challenging on Hard difficulty, but otherwise manageable. I really recommend to level a bit until three of your party members have physical multi-targeting attacks for the second major boss in the game. But even if you fail, you can just go back a week and prepare properly when you see the Game Over screen when fighting him. I wanted to experience before it leaves Gamepass, which will probably be in 1-2 months. I honestly should've started it when it was added at the end of last year to it. Better yet, I should've just experienced it years ago, when Royal came out. Now I'm already looking forward to the spinoffs Persona 5 Strikers, a musou, and Persona 5 Tactica, a Final Fantasy Tactics like game. #Persona5 #Persona #Games

@mr64bit @icedquinn I only skipped through the video, but I have very mixed feelings about it.Some aspects are really nice looking and polished, but it still looks janky overall. And the video itself reminded me of those scripted Ubisoft gameplay presentation videos, specifically for Ghost Recon Wildlands.But having seen Star Citizen so many years later for the first time, I wonder how it will compare in its current state to Star Citizen, which comes out in a month. I was reminded of it a lot, graphically and regarding the graphic detail, as I watched the Starfield Direct for it a month or so ago. How long is Star Citizen in development again? And when will it release?I never really followed it too much and was never on either side on the fence about it, but I never liked the fact that they sold ships for thousands and ten-thousands of dollars.#games

@icedquinn @mr64bit I was merely reminded of Star Field because of the similar style, although there are differences. Star Field is "neo retro", while Star Citizen goes all in on the "futuristic sci-fi".And despite not liking Bethesda's RPG's (except Fallout 3 and New Vegas), I am cautiously optimistic regarding Star Field. From what I understand, it became a high priority for Microsoft and they pushed the release 2 years back to polish it. But who knows, maybe I'm being fooled by Todd as well.#games #StarField
