@robdaemon I feel modern regular batteries (specifically duracell but others as well) are vastly more prone to electrolyte failure like this than, say, 15-20 years ago. Even unused ones will just ‘go’ in the package within a few years.

@futurebird Bosch makes a lovely 2 burner induction hob. I think miele makes one as well. But yeah, you want a hob (donnow what they call themin American, but just the stove top portion, not with an integrated oven).

@futurebird @jaystephens American fridges are large enough to house a family of four. Personally, like you, I go to the market for whatever I am going to have that evening, so a modern fridge is insanely oversized. We solved this by having an original 1971 sized hole for our fridge, which requires us to buy the absolute smallest non-mini fridge available. And it’s still mostly empty, minus leftover takeaway containers and drinks.

Y’all realise that the entire computer industry just pivoted to ‘AI Support’. Manufacturers of components (GPUs, CPUs, storage, RAM) are either exiting the consumer market (ex: Micron, Samsung) or severely limiting their offerings (NVIDIA, AMD, Samsung). Instead they are making products specifically catered and offered to AI/datacentre use.You thought not being able to upgrade your RAM was a problem. Wait until you can’t buy a computer, and only rent one.
