I picked up the 3-disc #Riddick collection. With everyone else in bed, it's time for me to re-watch #PitchBlack for the first time in years. Meanwhile, I'm working on my KODT column.

I love the different filters used in Pitch Black to depict the combined (and then fading) light of the movie's three suns. It gives the movie a distinctive visual style (or rather, several distinctive visual styles).

@fcktheworld587 It holds up well. The fading of the light, coupled with the increasing darkness, is a great tool for ratcheting up tension.

I decided to play with #Logseq as a possible tool for organizing campaign notes: https://logseq.com/I then stumbled across a minor holy war between logseq people who proclaim it is a note taking app, and so MUST use bullets for everything, and others who are confused about why a Markdown editor adds bullets to anything.Short version - it's not a Markdown editor. It uses its own flavor of Markdown, and its purpose built for note taking ... and forces everything to use bullets.

It's unfortunate, because it looks interesting and seems like a reasonable open-source alternative to #Obsidian. It likely is ... as long as your focus is on note collection, task management, brainstorming/dumping, etc.Me? I need something that will let me create Markdown documents the way I want to create Markdown documents ... which is without lots and lots of bullets.

Tonight was the first session of our co-op/solo #Ironsworn #Starforged game, in which we come together for co-op sessions, then venture off on solo treks which we chronicle in a wiki.

And it was pretty damned cool. We came up with some great quests for our individual characters. I can't wait to see where they take us.

@birv2 We've got ideas, but we're still testing them out. High-level, we're using a wiki to track locations in the Forge (the galaxy/playing area in Starforged). When folks go to an area, they interact with it via the talk page for that location (or NPC?). Things that become canon are then incorporated into the wiki page.We haven't talked about how we're recording solo-play; I plan on doing short journal entries in my character's wiki page. #Starforged #Ironsworn #Solo #CoOp

@birv2 We also plan to have some real-time co-op sessions as the story demands (or when we feel like hanging out :)). The wiki approach is based on a blog post I wrote many, many years ago, in which I speculated about using a wiki as a way of getting around the inevitable challenges with play-by-post. https://www.nuketown.com/designing-a-play-by-wiki-game/

@birv2 For my own solo play, I'm using Obsidian, which is wiki-like, or pen-and-paper journals.

Since my #CyberpunkRED campaign on @lairofsecrets is an actual play and since I have access to the transcripts ... it occurs to me that I should download those. Then I can use a local instance of #Ollama, through #SmartConnections in #Obsidian, to find random references to things like "Trouble's End".I've got a random reference to it squirreled away in my notes, but for the life of me, I can't recall if it showed up in-game or was just a cool idea.

This may be the nerdiest RPG I own. :)
