Anyone know of a good terminal for mouseless selecting and copying text? My use case doesn't need a multiplexer and urxvt with perl scripts breaks sometimes on update.

@tomosaigon Cool, I've used copy and select w/ tmux before. I don't really need the multiplexing features for my use case, but I guess I'll use it for the mouseless capability. Thanks!

@luke I'm liking the peertube love. The internet needs to start being decentralized again

@luke Makes sense. Although, I think video games can be better than TV or other forms of media if you don't get addicted to them. The learning process at the start of video games actively makes you think and optimize your actions (depending on the game), unlike watching TV or movies.

@luke History repeats itself. A small group of people controlling and manipulating the masses. Also, moving to rural areas doesn't change much unless you legit isolate yourself from the outside world and internet

@alyx Too late, my friend. I agree with you, but I believe we are already past the point of no return. Moderate voices have been drowned out, and there are almost to good faith actors left in government, media, and technology.

Russia and China will tell you that their citizens have "free speech" BUT not if you spread "misinformation" as decided by the party. Sounds a lot like America currently

@GNUxeava tensorflow and keras are machine learning libraries that make it extremely easy to run ml algorithms on your datasets. Without it, you would have to code things, like neural networks for example, from scratch yourself

@firewally Funny, I'm seeing a lot of people justifying actual fascism (aka censorship of ideas) by labeling anyone who has been censored as a "fascist" or "nazi". I'm sorry, but Ron Paul is definitely not a fascist.

@metalune Keepassxc is great. I wrote a small shell script that uses rsync that I run periodically to keep the database synced between devices

I like fosstodon, but I'm not a fan of it blocking entire instances. I believe this control should happen at the user level, especially since it is so easy for users to do.

@brandon I see, thanks for the explanation. I'm not looking for dark web stuff or anything, but part of the reason that drew me to decentralized platforms in the first place is that I'm competent enough that I don't need a big brother helping me censor the bad shit on the internet. Also, fosstodon only gives reasons for about 20% of why specific instances are blocked, and some of those are not even for reasons of legality

@wizzwizz4 @brandon I would probably block that specific user myself if what you're saying is true. But I dunno, I would rather have that decision be mine than upstream. To me, blocking the flow of information upstream on this platform is no different than having a purely centralized platform. I guess this is a philosophical difference between me and fosstodon
