@quad @wolf480pl in this case they should at least be required to be transparent about their operating costs to prove that their prices are reasonableif infrastructure needs to be upgraded to provide an acceptable baseline service and the state wants to subsidize something then maybe they should start there

@amolith @aetios I like the "just works" aspect of it, if anythingit only took a few minutes to set up, it can use the dedicated hardware in my GPU to transcode and it doesn't waste resources when I'm not using itplus the android tv client has a nice UI and unlike Kodi reading from an NFS share, playback is very smooth (I suspect it wasn't using hardware decoding on the TV)

@xerz yeah this is really concerning, between the obvious accessibility problems (I have bad eyesight too, not the worst but still) and the visual distractions they keep adding it feels like they're not designing their interfaces for people to use anymore :blobcatderpy:

@izaya both X11 and Wayland compositors know how to do direct scanout for full screen windows (same as exclusive fullscreen on windows but without the stupid behavior, it's called unredirection on X11)you don't need to turn your compositor off manually

@chjara I'd shill the mill (haha) but tfw it's still vaporwarethe hardware itself never speculates, it's up to the compiler to emit parallel computations and then select the result which makes it all deterministic and completely avoids this kind of vulnerability
