@fuzzysteve @Sonikku @taste @cstross Genesis 24:17Passage: The servant hurried to meet her and said, "Please give me a little water from your jar."So … eldest daughter just got home from work and I asked that and now I’m not thirsty though there was rather a lot of explaining to do. Doing ok so far I guess?

I don't know how to say this. This is terribly hard.I'm devastated to have heard that @geordie passed away last night in his sleep. My thoughts are with his family of course, and with all of us who knew him in the physical world as well. Please hug who you need to extra well tonight

Question for the academics (this is in AU), asking on behalf of another. They are about to undergo a role change (from contract to internal research fellowship as an independent researcher at the same institution). Current supervisor would remain as the ongoing supervisor, but has not been supportive either towards advancement or career development. Question is: is there precedent for changing supervisors? Is it a career-limiting move, is it highly political, or is it a totally normal thing. #academia #ShitTheyDontTellYou

Civic duty done - the sausage of democracy has been consumed, the biscoff slice of pre-diabetes has been engaged. May the bastards get their comeuppance

Now … how to watch the abc without a smart tv or a working antenna. Ps5 there’s no app; so I think it’s old phone and hdmi cable time.

Well, here we are at the vet because Pikse has become wobbly on her feet, lost weight, and diarrhoea. She’s nearly 18, and apparently has some arthritis but there’s some intestinal soreness too. Waiting for blood test results now (apparently only takes 25 minutes - the wonders of science)

Bloods not 100% indicative. Going to do a quick check for diabetes, then start some painkillers and antibiotics and see if we need ultrasound after the weekend. Best case: she ate too many skinks. Worst case: the big C.

@lardmotel I had one of those! At least it looks a lot like the one I had, around 1976 … shot little plastic “bombs” from the tubes which immediately got lost. I got it as a distraction present while in hospital for eye surgery. I think it’s still in a box of Random Car Toys somewhere, rather battered now.
