@lobodelrayo It is not like I used Wickr :) but after WIRE sold out to a shady company some time ago. Amazon also thought about buying Signal. But that is hard to do because it is a non profit org. Usually you can not buy that. Of I use Threema, you can take a look at my profile. My ID is linked there. Since they went open source I am using it more and more. Still waiting on their Desktop app and multi client support for one ID.I really hope Signal will bring up their user ids/user names.

@alexbuzzbee Amiga managed to screw up Commodore. I think, piracy back then was a very big factor for that. Heck.. I remember that we had shops here (not online, actualy real shops) that sold Amiga software and games, copied versions, for a price so low it was a joke.

@kev thats nothing unusual. At home I use windows 10 too. Why? Because I buy very expensive hardware and my hobby is gaming on PC. I sacrifice little bit of privacy to have my hardware running at full capacity with all feature and all my games I want to play. Really private stuff I would do on a virtual machine or my Linux notebook. People are just too fanatic about Linux sometimes. Of course I only run Linux on all of my servers.

@kev I made my mum a Tutanota email and put it as premium user into my own Tutanota account. So I've the "control" and she doesn't need to manage anything about it. Also she has custom domain too, like I have. She likes it.

@FreePietje I never had an Facebook account, ever. And I do not post about delete facebook or anything. People will learn when something BIG happens to them in particular. Until then, you can't do anything about it. Social media and things like Facebook are like the "Boiling Frog".

@FediFollows @snikket_im @xmpp @matrix @delta @briar @Jami this is kinda nonsense shittalk. If the client has proper E2EE and is open source then it doesn't matter what the server does or not. That is the whole point of E2EE at the end of the day... because you can not trust other parties than yourself and those you talk to. -> the server. Just check the client source and if there is anything wrong with it, then you can make an uproar.

@Linux Just like Cyberpunk, it runs better on Linux for me compared to Windows. Heck, Cyberpunk doesn't even run correctly on windows on my PC, it crashes from time to time. Not on Linux tho. God of War runs very smooth. With DLSS and everything. Even with Lutris/Wine and without Steam. Runs perfect.
