I got an Aeropress as a late birthday gift from a good friend, the best quick coffee thing ever. 10/10 recommend.

We are comfortably “crossing the break” and entering the clarion register without any ducks being strangled in the process, even when using my least favourite reed. This is also the most casual I’ve ever dressed while playing.

@nickycolman they’re nothing compared to the shelves / home office which is going to be the saddest part about selling this house 🥲

I grew up in North East England, so a good 60% of my existence. There we speak a dialect of English called Geordie. It's an odd dialect, with some close similarities to Scots, and has a strong old germanic/scandi influence. For example, in Geordie "I'm going to go home" is "am ganna gan hyem" If you are hesitant to ask for something, your elders will sternly tell you: "Shy bairns get nowt" which means shy kids get nothing, or "ask and maybe ye shall receive."A good mantra to live by

@nickycolman I wasn’t allowed to use slang at home (my mother could 😂) and haven’t lived there since I was 18 and now with 7 years now of Dutch being my dominant language so it’s killed my Geordie abilities. I can however mimic Lowland Scottish perfectly, if I do say so myself. But so cringe when people try it.

@nickycolman Oh it's dead, I sound like some weird Dutch-Middland-West-Country hybrid, which I guess is kind of what

@awesomeknight while the London Underground has been expanded and modernised, my hometown is still running 1978-1981 rolling stock on the Tyne and Wear Metro... they smell and look their age... which now is obviously back in fashion.I believe this August that they'll finally begin running new trains on the line.

@EU_Commission I don't miss standing on Type G plugs (they hurt), but the one thing I do miss from my homeland is that we can switch power outlets off at the wall... can't we mandate that too?
