Prices convey information very effectively. You can say, hey I prefer X can you give me X over Y. That does not tell the other person how much you want X compared to Y.Rather -> If you give me X i'll give you Z, but if you give me Y i won't give you Z.TLDR; Discounts...

Provide good service. In a conversation, that would be listening. Trying to understand the customer's grievance, trying to figure out what they want and then figuring out how to deliver it to them.Then again, maybe you don't want this customer, but that's another matter.
