Please boost! 🔁 As many of you already know, I'm a cognitive science student currently working on my bachelor's thesis about the relationship between internet users' identities and their online personas. Just got an ad for a sauce made from dead ants proudly proclaiming that instead of using typical plant/fungi based sauce ingredients they "massacre" 200 ants for each bottle. Excuse me what's wrong with plant-based sauces again?? And what did the ants do to deserve this??

I mean from a moral stand-point I'm quite ok with eating insects for protein but like, in the case of sauces there's really nothing wrong with the plant-based ones and in this case it seems to be advertising to the militant anti-vegan meatbros more than anything

Dear fedi, I need autism advice!I need to buy myself new shoes for the winter and I've been considering switching to barefoot shoes. Does anyone here know if they're actually worth it? If so, what brands are ok? Otherwise do y'all know any good shoe brands that make ergonomic shoes with wide toe boxes?I've been struggling with researching this since most brand comparisons are compiled by Americans and they seem to have their own ergonomic shoe market over there with lots of brands that are unavailable anywhere else.

For those still unaware, IKEA recently released a new line of carbon steel pans called VARDAGEN that are actually super well made and very affordable considering the level of quality they offer. If you've been wanting to get into seasoned cookware I seriously recommend this as a cheap starting point! I've had the opportunity to take a good look at it in person and I can say with a good degree of certainty that it's the kind of item that'll literally last you a lifetime if you take care of it.
