@itnewsbot what does it even mean to make games "more interactive" with LLMs?

@lauren There's yet another lawsuit happening too, by Smartmatics. IIRC they want a public retraction. Possible Carlson was against, or they just think he's a liability.Just guesses. Time will tell.

@pthenq1 @cwebber Guix is the name of a package manager (GNU Guix) and a Linux distribution (GNU Guix System) that is designed around a few very specific goals but two of the big ones are: use only fully FOSS software, nothing proprietary; and use a functional package management system, which means packages are managed in a way that makes the result predictable and reproducible, and undoable (rollbacks).

I really appreciate this piece by @eloquence talking about why the gatekeepers of success in the media can't understand the success of systems like mastodon and activitypub: https://write.as/eloquence/why-mastodon-and-the-fediverse-are-doomed-to-failWorth noting to readers that this article was written in 2020. I think it resonates even more-so now. Corporate organizations are reluctant to put effort into mastodon because they don't understand how a non-profit-driven system can be sustainable.

Recently been thinking about the importance of literally building community. The best way to combat -isms is by simply knowing more different people, and the best way to make that happen is to create physical and digital spaces that put us in more casual and friendly interactions with more people.Public transit/walkable cities build this; highways and stroads literally divide neighborhoods.Geographically based federated social networks are another excellent opportunity for this. How else?

@victor Is the instance based specifically on a hateful ideology, or tolerant of hateful behavior? If so seems poisoned against the whole friendly interactions thing.

If your website is going to pop up and ask for money I get it, you need to keep the lights on. Can you do it when I get to the end of the article tho? I'm just going to close the tab if that happens before I can read anything.

@vkc @grillchen iirc sway is configured the same as i3. Looking at docs and tutorials for that may help. The commands in the config file are fairly straightforward too

Lemmy feels like a better software than mastodon, design-wise. It's *super* easy to find content from different instances, subscribe, see it all in one place, without having to open up the original page. It just needs more content now. #lemmy #mastodon

I often think one of the best arguments (but least discussed) for individual action against climate change (like a plant-based diet, or using public transit) is that it makes you less reliant on the thing you're trying to fight, and therefore makes it easier to fight.

@futurebird @chu @ajsadauskas The fact that cars are the only vehicle Tesla releases or talks about shows that the EV component has always been, for the people at top, branding. If they wanted a true EV, environmental revolution they would've been first in line to bid on new rail contracts, they would have a whole line of ebikes and other PEV.

@futurebird @michaelgemar "Domestication" roughly means "adjusting to the house", so I humbly suggest we consider "forminestication", for adjusting to the ant nest.
