@chriswere@share.tube Didn't know you used restream. Always imagined you used OBS, plus PeerTube is going to create a special setting for OBS they said. And wow! That's pretty expensive indeed. nearly $200 per year is pretty expensive, especially if it's just for a couple of people over on PeerTube.

This is just a little overview of SepiaSearch but I'm dissapointed you didn't go into more of how it works, regarding how vidoes are presented (the order for example). In this example, your videos are the first, I doubt that's really exactly what somebody would want to be honest. The last result is the actual channel that would be most interesting to most probably. The search just lists instances on Framasoft's PeerTube index (https://instances.joinpeertube.org/instances). Peertube.social for example isn't on that instance because of faillures to moderate that instance against copyright infringement and most importantly hate-filled instances. All moderation is done after adding the instances to the index. That's a big problem really as most YT alternatives are cesspools of right-wing hate hurting their chances to actively appeal to a broader audience and PeerTube should not become that. Let those instances have their own index, with their own search website. To be clear, having reported recently some instances it seems that some of them have been taken off. That is encouraging and Peertube·Social is considering joining the index soon(ish).

@chriswere@share.tube I understand that it would change and perhaps a simple announcement like is all that's needed in these early days. I would suspect though that most, if not all, know about SepiaSearch if they are on watching this video on PeerTube.Looking forward to those videos. Also, have you seen TubeLab from Fedilab's dev ? It's pretty cool and might interest you do to a video on it one day.

@christalleras@share.tube I'm pretty sure the deltachat folder is a newer feature and I agree it's pretty cool. Had to test it again. I'm not sure it will catch on but I do appreciate the love put in.

I watch your videos via PeerTube rather than YouTube because I just have less content on PeerTube. I have over 100 channels subscriptions YouTube and less than 20 on PeerTube. I still follow you on PeerTube btw, but rarely watch your videos on YouTube because of jus the amount of content availlable on YouTube. I watch 80%+ of your videos since you've been on YouTube compared to <30% when on YouTube. I still think however that uploader on YouTube is good for you to reach more people. Perhapas a simple 24 to 72h PeerTube first policy before YouTube might be good to show support towards PeerTube and still reach the YouTube audience.

Can I just say that I really like that you noticed that the monitor is in your glasses ? Love that. Still hate that it does it but love that you said you were sorry about that! (Ok, I'm going to, for the first time, give a little appreciation on Liberapay. Btw, did you not use to have a patreon ? I'm sorry if you did a video on that before but I must have missed it.)

I think the $1 a month is a shame indeed, though you can make it so it only activates for new videos instead of monthly (big channels like CGPGrey do it that way), you could choose witch videos are worth asking money from supporters (there is a maximum/month fyi). I think Liberapay really shot itself in the foot because of the essential end of weekly revenue (I understand why), it was muc h better to have a Liberapay wallet. Also as you mention 'a few penies a week/month' I would like to ask you what you think of the 'objectif 1% from Ploum (popular francophone blogger, cf. https://ploum.net/objectif-1/) where everybody gives 1% of their income to 'culture' (broad definition), this would be from UK minimum wage of £1,424.54 about £15 per month. Therfore, your content should be worth a dollar a month (if I made minimum wage, student so I don't tbh) as I don't watch more than 15 video creators (on Liberapay, Patreon etc). Would be interest about your opinion about this 1% culture 'tax' (keep in mind BBC fee + all other commercial culture prices from TV, films, music etc.) as an actual 'creator'.

@chriswere@share.tube Oh wow they've got quite the little reputation. Apparently they deal mostly in in-game music and religious songs (melodies). Pretty incredible they are going after videos of choirs and everything. Honnnestly there could be a possible media storm on the religious stuff.

@stuartbrand@social.stuartbrand.co.uk That could be a pretty cool thing. Especially for livestream replays. If anybody really wants to watch those 2 hour livesteams then it's probably going to be in the month, not years later. YouTube's got unlimited space but PeerTube doesn't.PeerTube Livestreams will have the option to either keep a replay or not, a very good option.

The low-resolution is not a problem at all. I suppose it's more eco-friendly so voilà. Notice however, that only 480p is availlable. Could be better to have lower, or even audio-only (it's possible!) for low bandwidth. The 4:3 is a bit disturbing at first but I totaly agree with the idea of being better on phones and social media feeds. I think Instagram uses 1:1 so maybe that would be worth trying ?After a while, I've come to prefer this 4:3, more focuse is on you rather than the background. Also (no idea if I'm the only one) but somehow I feel like this has improved the reflection in your glasses. LOLI agree that fake b&w and real b&w is different but it feels nice to me. It's suppose to be a weird filter.__Yes, **PeerTube** does support it._

I've got a 2016 (I think) Kobo Aura Mini for about 60€ new (plus 20€ for the case) and I'm quite happy it. I've dropped it so many times that the screen doesn't work super well anymore (touching the screen, not the visibility). I'd like to have a model with buttons at the bottom I think like the more expensive ones. Also, highlighting and notes don't work that well plus no real way to export those unfortunately (unlike with the Kindle coupled with GoodReads). I think, all in all, you get what you pay for: they only really make money selling the ebooks from their store (Kobo has got some DRM free books, [see here](https://switching.software/tools/kobo-search/) ).I don't really use the internet nor do I update the ereader that often. I have an update it's been asking me to do for a couple of months now. I suspect it's indeed the first boot. Koreader looks cool but it's not really an operating system as far as I understand. It's more of an app, you can download it on an Android phone btw.

You can play SuperTuxKart on the PinePhone (and probably the Librem5): https://devtube.dev-wiki.de/videos/watch/b7cc9c6a-f16d-442e-97b3-a686129f2662Pretty cool!Btw, do you intend on getting someday a PinePhone @chriswere@share.tube ? I can't remember you talking about mobile linux phones (recently at least).

I have only one question reagarding that ink colour anecdote: do british pupils write in black ink at school ?In France, it is assumed that pupils will write in blue, or black if a title or whatever, underline in red and make corection in green. Teachers would write mostly in black and correct in red.The hippy colours are light green, pink instead of red, purple or blue sky instead of blue. This is more or less what you would find anywhere in France. Some teachers sometimes use green instead of red because they think red just looks too depressing for younger pupils. Also, a teacher one gave me a 0/20 because I didn't write in normal blue!
