@x86instructions Hi, I'm a venture capitalist whose brain instantly turns off when I hear the word "AI"! Your product is a sure to disrupt the software industry, I would like to invest immediately! Here, have one billion dollars! 💰 💰 💰 (not actually a venture capitalist)

I'm called into a public town council meeting to hear how they're responding to our petition about police violence. One question for the police chief was "Why do you do the work you do?" and he responded "I've been asking myself that question a lot lately" hahahahaha

https://newrepublic.com/article/144600/trump-wants-re-militarize-police-montana-none-itThe US military has donated over $5 billion of military equipment, weapons, drones, armored vehicles, etc. to local police departments. This is one of the drivers of police militarization. This is something we can push back against at a state level. The state that's done the best job so far of demilitarizing their police is (I would not have guessed this) MontanaWe can write to our state reps and ask them to follow Montana's example.

That ending was not bad!Well, everything about Pagh-Wraiths was stupid. And I don't like the Julian/Ezri ship at all. But the parts that weren't about Pagh-Wraiths or Ezri were good.I'm impressed by how many balls in the air (some of them for seven years!) they actually managed to catch in the last few episodes. That can't have been easy. So I can forgive them for dropping one or two. And all the characters got good send-offs. A lot better than most shows get.

Happy Juneteenth. My company talked about giving everyone the day off. I think the end of slavery is a worthy thing to be a federal holiday... But...Our startup has zero Black employees. A bunch of non-black people giving themselves the day off, seems like patting ourselves on the back for nothing? What actions are just performative virtue-signaling, vs what will actually improve things?I told my boss if we really care we should hire more (any) black people first of all.

Social conservatives are in great distress after Gorsuch's majority opinion on Title VII case:https://www.theamericanconservative.com/dreher/josh-hawley-gop-shafted-religious-right-judges-legal-conservatism/They're like, if textualist judges don't give us the results we want, then why are we holding our noses and voting for a GOP that only cares about tax breaks for the 1%? Has the GOP been playing us for suckers for 40 years? (yes)I'd almost feel sorry for them except that what they want is the "right" to fire people for being gay, or trans!

Did you ever read the ingredients on a box of all-natural plant food? There's like: fish bones, blood meal, feathers, kelp, bat guano... I just wanted my tomatoes to have more nitrogen but suddenly I'm ready to prophecy that no man of woman born can slay MacBeth

My favorite character in #ACNH is Flick. He's so awkwardly intense and passionate. He loves bugs more than most people love anything. He's like the prophet of a weird, insect-based personal religion. My 4-year-old saw me drawing and wanted to help. So, I let her draw the bee and flower and I drew Flick watching them. It's our first collaboration.#MastoArt

@haskal i was like "what about mass? and distance?" but then i realized mass can be in units of calorie-over-speed-of-light-squared, and distance can be in units of speed-of-light-times-one-over-middle-C-frequencyexcellent, I see no other problems with this system 🙃

trump could have saved TENS OF THOUSANDS of lives simply by telling his followers to wear masks(every single one of those "i'll never wear a mask, you can't take my 🇺🇸 FREEDOM🇺🇸 " goons would do it in an instant if their god-emperor told them to)trump won't do it, because the lives of thousands of americans -- even his own most devoted worshippers! -- are less important to him than the damage his precious, fragile ego would suffer if he was seen agreeing with an expert

He wouldn't even have to admit he was wrong! he could just lie that he was always in favor of mask wearing! He does stuff like that all the time!He could lie and say "liberals don't want you to wear masks" ! I don't care! If reverse-psychology is what it takes to make these overgrown children stop spreading a pandemic! The best time would have been a few months ago but he could still save thousands by doing it now!trump is better at killing Americans than Osama Bin Laden

@chaekyung "we barely have any deaths from SARS-COV-2" How is 130,000 deaths "barely any"?Texas, Arizona and South Carolina have all seen their death toll rise by more than 100 percent in the past four weeks.https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/07/11/coronavirus-update-us/"nobody in scandanavia wears a mask anywhere and we're fine" excuse me?https://www.forbes.com/sites/williamhaseltine/2020/06/04/a-warning-from-sweden/#239f70f64c56"Sweden now has among the highest per capita death rates from Covid-19 in the world."Why are you spreading misinformation that kills people?

@chaekyung As for your argument that mask wearing should be a personal choice: People have a right to throw away their own lives if they choose but they do not have a right to endanger others.Refusing to wear a mask increases the transmission rate, which increases the risk of more vulnerable people dying. You have no right to make that choice for them. AND you increase the length of time businesses will need to remain closed, thereby increasing long-term damage to the economy.

@chaekyungIgnoring your ad-hominem.The information I can find about how well Sweden contained the epidemic contradicts what you're saying. But let's say you're right. If so, I'm glad Sweden is doing better now. Sincerely glad! Good for you guys! But the US is not doing better. Maybe we're not as lucky as you. The pandemic is accelerating again here.Back in January, I also thought it was hysteria. "More people die from the flu", I said. I was wrong.

Trying out some new brushes/painting style in #Krita. My daughter's favorite dinosaur, the Brachiosaurus. #MastoArt Did you know: brachiosaurus lived 155-153 million years ago and T-rex lived 68-65 million years ago, meaning more time separates brachiosaurus and T-rex than separates T-rex and ourselves. This is a fun fact you can use to spoil children's fun by pointing out the historical inaccuracy of their dinosaur cartoons.
