I need a sofa and have been blown away buy the price of them. I found a real beauty but it would have meant having to sell some Btc, which I just couldn't do. So I found an affordable second hand one, which, with some new covers, will be fine. Bitcoin left unscathed. Savings used to be about growing your capital, but the banks broke that. @BugmanExtraordinaire No not me, have been buying for a long time. But to sell at this price would be silly. I determined to keep skin in the game for ten years, so that's what I am sticking to. So far so good. Have bought all the way up and all the way down, and it's done me great. Would rather loose everything than keep money in the banks and keep this shitshow running any longer that absolutely necessary. Full Btc node, full lightening node. Bitcoin maximalist walking.

@BugmanExtraordinaire Not to me. I don't need more Fiat, that's the whole point. I have just retired at 56 and fucking hate the current system. It's broken and is not letting humanity move forward in a positive way. What would I have done having sold my Bitcoin? Paid tax on it? Spent it on something that I thought would change my life for the better? You will never find anything more than a transient moment of joy in any possession you buy. It's not about making more Fiat, it's about change.

@waxwing Missed the action, was off into town. Always good when a discussion kicks off. :) The price of a sofa is just silly money. It's because they sell it on the idea of being a one time big purchase. I found a really good one, which you can buy replacement covers for. Pretty much new for a fraction of the price. In fact the covers cost more than the sofa, but still way cheaper than a new one. Indeed my point was, saving is a good idea, and that banks had killed that idea, by dropping rates.
