My local grocery store started stocking the new Zero Sugar Mountain Dew Baja Blast. I tried it and it's pretty good. I wish the taste was stronger though. It tastes somewhat watery. Like the flavor is very mild compared to other zero sugar drinks. It's not bad and I still like it. I just wish it had a stronger taste.

I appreciate anime studios that make recap episodes or movies. Sometimes I find out an anime I watched got a sequel and it's been such a long time since I've watched the original that I've forgotten a lot of details and most of what it was about.Recaps save me the time of having to rewatch an entire series just to sort of refresh my memory.

It probably won't ever happen, but I wish Tomodachi Life would get a sequel on the Switch or even just a simple port. It's honestly the most hilarious game I've ever played.

A nice benefit to gaming:"In a new study, researchers show for the first time that expert players of real-time strategy games have faster information processing, allocate more cognitive power to individual visual stimuli, and allocate limited cognitive resources between successive stimuli more effectively through time. These findings, published in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, suggest that playing these games can cause long-term changes in the brain and lead to an improvement in temporal visual selective attention, according to the researchers."Full Article: https://psychcentral.com/news/2020/04/12/video-games-can-be-powerful-tools-for-cognitive-training/155668.html

Studio Ghibli released several wallpapers that are free to download. They stated that "the new wallpapers are meant to be used as backgrounds for video conferences and chats, so you and the people who communicate with you can feel as if you’ve been whisked away to the magical world of Ghibli."You can download them here:http://www.ghibli.jp/info/013251

My cat sits at the edge of my computer desk and whenever my door is open, she sits there staring at the TV in the living room. She looks like she's actually watching TV and is interested in what's going on.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni is getting a new anime and is expected to air some time in July. It has the same name as the original that aired in 2006. I'm not sure if this means it's going to be a remake of the original, or an entirely new series. Regardless, I'm really excited! Higurashi is one of my favorite horror anime.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViVnzjalOsc

I found a neat little python script that automates the game 'six degrees of wikipedia'.If you don't know what that is, it's a game where you pick two Wikipedia articles and try to get from one article to the other one by clicking on links within the articles. The goal is to do this in the least amount of clicks possible. This script automates this process for you. You just enter the starting and ending articles, and it will attempt to get you from one article to the other in the least amount of clicks. It's surprisingly fun.https://github.com/connerlane/degrees-of-wikipedia

The new Animal Crossing game is fantastic and it's great how far the series has come. Still, there's something very special about the original on the Gamecube. It lacks the graphics and features of AC on the Switch, but there's something special about it that sets itself apart from the other games in the series. Something about it that makes it still highly enjoyable after all this time. Maybe it's just nostalgia; I don't know.

@verystrongcat Oh, definitely. There were a handful of rude villagers in AC on the Gamecube. A lot of them were assholes, but that's what made them so likable and interesting. They had personality. The villagers in the new AC game are too nice. There's no rudeness to them at all. Some villagers in the Gamecube version would call you an idiot, say that you're ugly, comment on your weight, tell you to shut up, and one villager even calls you a mental case for running around them.Given how Nintendo is focused on being family-friendly, I'm surprised they allowed that kind of stuff in their game.

R.I.P. Hana Kimura. She was a Japanese professional wrestler who wrestled for Japan's Stardom promotion. She sadly passed away at only 22.She appeared in Netflix's Terrace House series and one of the episodes resulted in her getting bullied online, which lead to her committing suicide.Even now that she's dead, there are still people saying terrible things about her, and some people are even happy she's dead. It's fucked up and sad.Poor girl had her whole life ahead of her and brought joy to so many of her fans. She didn't deserve this.

Very sad news. Haruma Miura has passed away at the age of 30. His death is believed to be a suicide. Some of you may know him for his role as Eren Yeager in the two live action Attack on Titan movies. He also played Itou Kamotarou in the second live action Gintama movie, starred in From Me to You, a live action adaption of Kimi ni Todoke, and has acted in many other popular movies and dramas. R.I.P. Haruma. You were such a talented person and will surely be missed.

Seven 'no log' VPN providers were hacked, exposing 1.2 TB worth of user logs. Data includes plaintext passwords, IP addresses, timestamps of user connections, session tokens, information of the device, and OS being used along with geographical information in the form of tags. The VPN providers affected are UFO VPN, FAST VPN, Free VPN, Super VPN, Flash VPN, Secure VPN, and Rabbit VPN. If you have an account with one of these providers, I strongly suggest you delete your account immediately and if you use the same password you use for your VPN account on any other website (which you should never do), change it ASAP.More info here: https://www.theregister.com/2020/07/17/ufo_vpn_database/
