11 years ago…Housing and Urban Development Corporation 9000 series for Haneda Airport. It is not well known that the Corporation, now called Urban Renaissance Agency (UR), actually owned railways in the past. However, this train was effectively Hokuso Railway's train.

The first train photo of the year: JR East HB-E220 series, a brand new diesel train for the Hachiko Line with notoriously small windows.

Getting ready to dispose of my old smartphone. It is said that an iPhone 6s is quite popular among teenage girls these days, but I don't think anyone wants this one.

30 years have passed since Keio 1000 series for the Inokashira Line was introduced, and a small sticker commemorating the anniversary has been attached to the first two trainsets - so subtle that 99 out of 100 people would miss it.

Timetables tell a lot.In 1992,JR Central introduced "Nozomi" service, which significantly reduced the journey time between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka. The westbound train, which left Tokyo in the early morning, did not call at Nagoya and Kyoto. The "Nagoya skip" was criticised by people there, as they feared that the fourth largest city in the country would be ignored by the rest of the country. The measure lasted for five years, ending in 1997.
