Whenever it actually describes the lyrical content of a song it's either slightly wrong, very wrong, or so generalized as to be possibly talking about any possible song. Back when I was working on the board of the CBLDF I got very used to the idea of material for adults being challenged by people who thought comics were for children. The idea of books aimed at children being challenged just because they had positive black characters was unimaginable. The New York Public Library has retired the "Book is a Dream" mug on the left and replaced it with the new mug on the right. You can get them from the @nypl store. All proceeds go to the library (I don't see a penny from it although sometimes I get a free mug.) https://shop.nypl.org/

@scalzi our only ever interaction was on Twitter a few years ago where I was trying to explain to him why going after a person when you have 20 million followers is bullying whatever your intent. He wasn't interested. (he was going after a PHD student for being "anti science" because she had "nano" in her biography iirc.

My old friend (and for almost thirty years my family's doctor) Dan Johnson has a charity he started in memory of his son, Alec, who was drowned in 2014. One of the projects they are supporting is helping a couple who work in Haiti with abandoned children (and aren't part of the Haitian "orphanage industry").
