@vstinner The beginner meant `if x == (2 or 3)`, but that won't do what they want (as you know).

Python proposal (inspired by Lua!):args = {'a':1, 0:98, 1:99, 'b':2}f(**args)is the same as:f(98, 99, a=1, b=2)I've long wished to have one thing that could serve as both *args and **kwargs. Int keys are already invalid, so nothing would break.

Is it OK to admit that I like bookstores more than I like books?

Why is it an "exclamation point" and "question mark"? Why not "exclamation mark" or "question point"?

If I could change one thing about #Python education, it would be to change every example of `for i in ...` to something more meaningful (`for number in ...`) so that people would stop writing things like `for i in employees:`

50 years ago people would say, "If they can land man on the moon, why can't they XYZ."This generation's will be "If they can add AI into it, why can't they XYZ."

I've been here for a year, time for an #introduction. I've been deeply involved with #Python for decades, blogging at https://nedbatchelder.com.I did a keynote at PyCon this year (https://nedbatchelder.com/text/key23.html) about using engineering skills to improve your people skills.I maintain @coveragepy. I'm an organizer of https://about.bostonpython.com.I also talk (here or on my blog) about #generativeart, #typography, #boston, #uspol, #autism parenting, #juggling, and whatever else catches my attention.

@simon I went looking for a thing-that-must-exist, and of course your fingerprints are on it: https://github.com/dogsheep/github-to-sqliteI see some waiting pull requests. Are you accepting changes? If I make some, might they land? For example, per_page=100, only open pull requests, all pr's in an org, etc.

A common #python question: what's the difference between a script and a program?- A program is something you've put some thought into.- A script is something you didn't think you had to put any thought into.

Anyone remember what #PyCon talk it was where somehow the captioner got in a discussion with the speaker and typed "I'm in the room" into the captions?
