@feynman Did you fix it? I got it working a month ago or so and then got it to work with Netlify after that. It works beautifully since.

@feynman @Tutanota It's not so simple for some of us, man. I agree that Facebook sucks and I'd like an alternative, and Twitter is a cesspool, but there's a lot of valuable information there as well (I.E. News from Scientific American, PBS, activists, etc....). LinkedIn I only ever visit once every 6 months for "professional" crap at the very most. I think I didn't visit it once for a year. I'd like some of those news organizations to join Mastadon actively - that would be a nice start. :)

@wizzwizz4 This is interesting. I heard Yudokowsky on Sam Harris's podcast a year and a half ago and it was a brilliant conversation. As I've been studying Python programming and AI, I will be reading the link and thinking about it. Thank you.

@wizzwizz4 Well, since I'm still learning how to take data sets and process them so that the computer can intelligently learn which one has a bigger set of values according to X...basically lesson plan 4 or 5...I wouldn't worry about me.... but yeah. I'm with you on that. However, you should know: everyone in computing is going to be doing AI. Everything everyone does in computers will be AI soon. And when I mean everyone, I literally mean everyone.

@wizzwizz4 Considering I can barely get a 1st year Python coder program to run, I still don't think that I'm your problem. :D But yes, I agree. However, I think there are also varying degrees of AI. We all use AI already at a low level. IE: Siri, Amazon search, Google search, etc...also in other venues. These won't ever be "dangerous" in that way. You're talking more along the lines of at least semi-conscious AI, which is another story really.

@ohyran My uninformed take would be that in the Western parts, it would be primarily (but not exclusively) a breakdown of many Muslim denominations, coupled with some new influx of religious right pandering in the last couple of years, whereas in the east, it is primarily based on Christian fundamentalism (eastern Orthodoxy) and some tiny Muslim minorities. But I would actually like to see the real figures and breakdowns. It could provide valuable insight on many cultural levels.

@ohyran Also remember that the Eastern countries are much more tied to traditional Christian culture than anything the West has - much in the same way that many Muslim countries are traditionally tied to cultural values, even though some people may not be that "religious" in their daily thinking. So you have that problem as well.Basically: conservative values, no matter the religion, suck.

@emacsen I'm too busy to watch it now but I did look at the first few minutes and it looks very good so I put it in my org mode tasks and I'll check it out later today or tonight. Thank you. :)
