@alfredohno You brag about the file size, but to me it looks like you're wasting a *WHOPPING* 61 bytes and an *ENTIRE* GET request with unnecessary items in <head>You're practically using Node.js and Google Fonts at this point smh

@alfredohno Oh and the <html> tag is unnecessary since most browsers will treat it as implicit with the document's HTML MIME type. There are a lot of unnecessary newlines too, and my Netscape Navigator loads the page like 5 whole minutes faster without them, but maybe that's just 'cause my trusty old Am486 is finally dying out on me

@Paradox @Rasp There's a bit more to it when you look at the page ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necronym )Different cultures have different ways of referring to, regarding and honoring the dead. The main example presented is the practice of naming new children after relatives who have died; that is, having a name only become available for naming a newborn in a family when it becomes a necronym

@NettoHikari 'Mastodon' refers to a genus of probosicdeans with trunks, presumably allowing them to produce an - onomatopoetically-described - 'toot'.'Pleroma' may either refer to a South American flower or to a theistic idea of the 'totality of divine powers' (coming from an old Greek word).Perhaps a name for Pleroma posts could relate to 'filling the empty', 'completing the incomplete'; the idea of fulfillment, completeness or of that which has been completed.

@NettoHikari You might want to make some slight grammatical changes (though then again, 'Pleroma' is a [possibly anglicized] derivative form anyway), but I believe you could even just call a post a 'pleroma', referring to the result of an/the act of fulfillment (Like you finished composing it and are ready to publish it, I guess?)

@NettoHikari Pleroma doesn't immediately make clear the origin of the name on its website. Supposedly, though, it references the Ancient Greek 'πλήρωμα' (IPA /'pli.ro.ma/) via the New Testament of the Bible.

@NettoHikari It can be irritating sometimes. And I feel like I'm really missing out on some stuff looking at https://akkoma.social/#secondary-featuresIt seems to me that Mastodon is designed as more of a 'microbloggong' platform while others (say, Misskey) are more like a general platform for social interaction within a group

@vriska Would a wife of Alexander III of Macedon be 'Mrs the Great'?Plus, how could we claim to know of the Muppets' naming conventions? As far as we know, 'Piggy' could function like a hereditary cognomen in Ancient Rome, signifying her specific family within a larger family tree or even her inherited rank in the Muppet aristocracy

@lowqualityfacts Even considering the optical illusion created by the lines in the floor and the fact that the average basketball player is three times bigger than the average football player, it's kinda crazy how hard it is to realize this, especially if you're not a big sports fan.
