Spotted bee balm, Monarda punctata. Fun fact: the light pink bits are not flowers! They are the bracts. The little yellow things with small brown spots are the flowers. The mint family has a morphological trait seen here called a vertiscillaster. This means that the flowers are bunched and whorl around the axis of the main stem. #Bloomscrolling #flowers #botany

Hey don't be this guy. Some gentleman walked by me right now and said that my yard is a mess and he's glad he isn't my neighbor. Guy, I put a lot of work into my yard, more than I ever did with a lawn. I don't do it for humans, I do it for the pollinators, birds, butterflies, and creepy crawlies. What are your favorite plant, botany, or ecology podcasts? Some of mine are 'In Defense of Plants', 'The Field Guides', and 'Headwaters'. Sometimes CPBBD is great too. @futurebird my podcast feed for CPBBD stopped working a month or two ago. I love his videos though! He in part changed the direction of my career. His impact is widespread, I think!

What are the chances that Meta/Whatsapp, Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon etc are making backdoors into their systems for this admin now? Seems rather more likely than them putting up a fight anymore. They're all bending the knee. Even if they state that they aren't, I'm much less inclined to trust their word. #infosec #datasecurity #encryption #privacy
