       @mrjunge @ilovecomputers Nah, I think it's a mistake to go to an even lower-level description. If we follow the email pattern, we consistently refer to the whole system using the name of the messages it sends: I have toots, do you have toots? (If you're worried about the fart joke potential, I guess you could attempt to xerox "tweets." But imo we go to toot with the nomenclature we have.)

       @kristinHenry @BLatro @odbol @FlyingTrilobite Afaik a bit of both. Suing over samples really took off in the '90s once labels realized hip-hop artists were lucrative targets.
