@BlurTheFur of the people who join, 80% will make less than 5 posts and then forget about it forever, 10% will complain nobody uses it and quit, 5% will forget it exists within a week, 4% will make an effort and then announce they're moving back after a month, 1% or less find it's a good fit and actually stick around and engagethough I may be optimistic

request to the fediverseplease cw twitter/elon news, and consider other news in generala lot of us came here a long time ago to get away from that sort of thing springing up on us out of nowhere, like a clown/spider hiding behind a door ready to jump out and go boocw isn't censorship, it's a safety tool to allow people to engage on their own terms. if twitter/elon/badnews etc is posted by someone who I generally like to read, I'll probably read it anyway, but the extra step of clicking the cw lets me mentally prepare first

@BrodieOnLinux I've personally blocked it for years, and many of the newer servers I'm connected to have gotten their start by immediately putting it on their Silence lists. The idea that it's not worth dealing with isn't new, it's just not evenly distributed.
