@protonprivacy The problem is that whenever ProtonVPN is active, DNS doesn't work. I shut it off and I can connect. I ripped it out entirely and I'm using Mullvad and Torguard instead. I don't have to wait DAYS for Proton to respond to a ticket.

@foone Some people are to stupid about informational hygiene for their own good. You could send them a text telling them how stupid they are or use the card until the account gets closed to perform some mild hijinx. Something like putting it into a burner and donating it to a homeless shelter. Who knows what calls to Nicaragua or Guatemala or Hyerbad would exhaust the card.I only wish it was as easy to return all the dog turds that errant dog owners leave on sidewalks and lawns back into their own living rooms.

@grickle Mom was a tea drinker. But she'd get up in the morning at 6am to plug in the coffee pot (pre-Mr. Coffee) so Dad had a thermos full for work.The magic of the 1st cup is still unassailable.

@stux Wonder what a judge would do in this circumstance.Interesting that she can ticket the car but could a towing company tow it without risking it's business license. Towing government vehicle is a no no.Firefighters, however, wouldn't hesitate to break windows to reach a fire hydrant.In any case, his shift supervisor isn't going to to be happy with him, especially with this video going viral.

@sjvn When @pluralistic said he quit smoking because he realized he was burning through 2 to 3 laptops/year, this perspective boggles my mind. I never smoked or wanted to. Both my parents and sister did. RIP.

@futurebird I don't know if it's a generational thing or what, but dad would "go get takeout" when mom didn't want to cook. We'd phone in the order and he'd drive to the restaurant, pay for the food, pick it up, and drive it home.

@stux I hope there are plenty of people that make the prospect of travel and fun unpleasant for Vance. Much like the prospect of MAGA dining out. Sure there will be places that welcome such people, but hopefully they won't be able to hire staff because of the poor working conditions, lack of tipping, and having assholes for managers.

@tomasino I have his weird recipe for brown rice curry. Apparently they cook rice like it's pasta, boiling it in lots of water until it's tender then draining it.
