@historyofpunkrock All these women were/are utterly amazing, and deserve all our love, respect and admiration.But its important to remember that many (most?) HC punk scenes in the early 80s - SoCal I'm talking about you! - were absolutely dominated by unexamined toxic masculinity, making these scenes quite hostile places for women's voices. Of course their were shining exceptions and yes there are some incredible women who came though that 1980 - 1984 period better for it. Yet there were lots more who had to bow out because of sexism and/or other horrible experiences.
