@stux I agree. The "Overton window" for acceptable speech and expressible political views has shifted (ie been deliberately dragged, by bot farms and RW media) to the far right.

@stux @shuro We (UK) declared war on Nazi Germany in 1939, not the other way round. That was correct as we needed to take military action against an aggressor. Russia is Nazi Germany in this analogy.

@shuttersparks @GayDeceiver Counterpoint. You can't criminalise lying because it brings the lawyers into parliament/Congress. Lying is notoriously difficult to prove but a good lawyer could oust a naive politician for the slightest mistake: a promise that went unfulfilled, or an unintended interpretation that can be seen to be false. We'd need a "Ministry of Truth" and you know where that leads...
