Hi, total rando here, with another opinion nobody asked me for.. So, what if all these #labor #unions had #mastodon servers? or any #activitypub presences? Where's #sagaftra 's Lemmy instance? or whatever. Y'all talk about #organizing, and don't even use the tools the #infobarons use? Where are the #journalist's collectives and their #instances? It's like, time to nail that letter on the #church door again. The printing press taught the masses to read. Now we have #activitypub.US$0.02++

Eh, I take it all back. #ActivityPub is probably a bad idea for #unions, as the protocol is meant for reach and discoverability. Organizing is subject to busting, and it would be too easy for counter-organizers to make it painful for people trying to organize. Instead, #E2EE is probably a better solution for #organizing, and there's no better tool for that than #Matrix. So that's my new opinion! Stay tuned for more pairs of pennies from your friendly neighborhood internet rando.

@fsf @endDRM please please please make these stickers far easier to acquire! How do you not recognize that they're the movement's best statement?? The more people can PUT THEM ON THINGS, the more people will start to think twice about using things they find them on! Yes, there's even one on the console of my Tesla. ...but I'm almost out of them, and the iphone 15 is about to drop! please help!

@nixCraft I tried to install Arch a few times, as a long time #Debian user, my takeaway was this;Booting the install media for #Arch, being dropped at a bash prompt, and instructed to install everything by hand, made clear to me that #Arch #linux is a good textbook for people who want to learn #LinuxI can get behind that. People shouldn't have to be mechanics to drive cars, but if you want to learn how to be a mechanic, assembling a car isn't a bad education. #Gentoo otoh, is a CS degree.
