       @timClicks I'm very new here, but it seems like the choice of a server doesn't matter much. People follow others cross server and most of my timeline is people I explicitly follow, not the ones from my local server.

       I have somehow configured my laptop such that it's impossible to connect to the internet in any other way than through my Tailscale's exit node. Nothing in iptables, I can't find what I did to make it so.I guess I'll keep it that way, I like to think it's kind of more secure like that.

       @sullybiker it looks like everything is clean, but then I think I kind of like this setup anyways? Gets somewhat annoying if my VPN exit node goes down, but where's the fun otherwise.

       @pluralistic Could we get these inside a single post on Mastodon? With a 500 character limit there is way less need to split stories into thirty separate parts.

       What if we had a simple implementation of the Mastodon backend, backed by SQLite. It would be aimed for single or low user count instances and would be a simple binary you would drop and wire up to nginx, no other setup necessary?
