@emil I mean, yes, it has its legitimate uses, but they&#39;re also not that wrong that it&#39;s a tool that&#39;s specifically built to circumvent protection mechanisms that are, grantedly among other content, used for content they manage, so the claim isn&#39;t completely unreasonable. It&#39;s not GitHubs fault that they&#39;re pulling it, because the alternative would be for them to pay for a lawyer for each and every claim for all projects. I don&#39;t think there are any reputable code hosters who&#39;d do that.

@wauz @golem Ööhm, ganz so trivial isses nicht... Weißt du denn von jedem den Standort an dem er sich aufhalten *sollte*, vor allem da das ja nicht unbedingt identisch mit dem Wohnsitz sein muss? Da bräuchte man noch ein Portal wo sich Leute anmelden müssen (was ist mit Menschen ohne Internetzugang?) und dann immer wenn sie die &gt;15km überschreiten einen Grund nennen können (wie wird der überprüft?). Und wie kommt man zentral an die Daten? Und und und...

@wauz @golem Klar, das zu programmieren ist ne Sache von ein paar Tagen. Aber Infrastruktur und Kommunikationsmittel fehlen einfach, und da scheitert es nicht nur am Geld sondern auch an langfristig gedachter Organisation (Beispiel Katastrophen-Warn-Apps). Da können weder Google noch einzelne Personen was dran rütteln, und wenn man noch ans Grundgesetz denkt wahrscheinlich noch mal deutlich weniger.

@quad @Zergling_man @wolf480pl I think for Audio/Video they&#39;re mostly using Jitsi and/or WebRTC. Also, many of the clients are using different implementations, so calls aren&#39;t really a core functionality yet.

@Spreepunk Das eine hat mit dem anderen nichts zu tun - auch wenn man im Rahmen der Beschränkungen nur mit einem anderen Haushalt zu dritt feiert, macht es absolut Sinn sich testen zu lassen. Das reine Gewissen ist ein Bonus der einen sinnvollerweise dazu verleiten kann sich testen zu lassen, aber viel testen hilft einfach viel, und das sage ich aus der Quarantäne.

@ij Alternative These: Menschen neigen generell dazu neue/unbekannte Dinge doof zu finden, außer sie bringen einem direkt einen Nutzen. WhatsApp war billiger als SMS und konnte noch dazu mehr. Telegram kann Gruppen besser als WhatsApp und viele fanden die Sticker witzig, deshalb sind da Leute hin gewechselt. &quot;Kann fast genausoviel aber privatsphärefreundlich&quot; ist einfach kein ausreichendes persönliches Argument.

Warum ist Amazon eigentlich offenbar die einzige Plattform die sich noch der Subscription-Mentalität und den Labels entgegenstellt und Musik direkt als MP3 verkauft? Alle anderen Anbieter haben irgendwann zu einem Streaming-Angebot gewechselt, und da verschwinden dann manche Songs einfach irgendwann. -.-

@popolon @lupyuen The official versions are not affected, these are malicious binaries distributed through WhatsApp links, quite simple spear-phishing that can happen with Linux versions or other apps in exactly the same way. The article obfuscates that important detail a bit.
