I like playing the accordion, but I’m a total beginner at it. Luckily, I have a bunch of beginner sheet music left over from piano lessons while I was a kid. However the left hand on the piano and the bass side of the accordion are very different, and have the notes arranged very differently, so if I want the left hand to sound good on accordion I have to fiddle with it and usually rewrite it. It’s challenging to find something that works, because the bass side can easily overwhelm the right hand, and with the way the notes are arranged there’d be a lot of stretching and jumping from the different buttons, but it’s also a fun puzzle and really rewarding once I get it.

At the moment—my health. Hard to write consistently when in the throes of an ulcerative colitis flare-up and I’m either on the toilet or in bed asleep because I can’t get any energy from what I eat. I’m so close to the end of a story tooSO CLOSE

I’ve just been very quiet because I was nearing the end of a very, VERY big Vampire Mall Cop project. This will be the first long-form VMC story EVER, and once I have it all typed up and edited, it will be going on Kindle Vella. I think you’re all really going to like this. :)

@unblinkingeye yep. The lyrics make me feel slimy and nasty, the vocals are annoying, and the place I work likes to overplay it HARD. I heard it five times during a six hour shift once. They have two different versions of it on the playlist too. No other song gets played that much

Back when @danielandangel were active they had a couple Christmas prompts for the microfiction contest. I wrote one for that, and then I wrote a sequel to it that was much longer about the characters hunting and slaying a giant fire breathing Turducken for charity. Both stories can be found on my website
