The kerfuffle this morning with Discount Electronics just serves to illustrate how screwed up our legal system can be, with a patchwork of laws across states.Under the SCOTUS ruling, an online retailer basically has to know all of the sales tax rates in all of the states they do business in. That's around 183 jurisdictions in WA alone.This is why Amazon does so well with running back-room operations for retailers. It's a nightmare.

@CliffWade My wife and I got what we thought was a terrible flu, just before COVID was announced. All of the symptoms matched COVID, and it took us 3 months to recover. So have we had it? Likely, but unsure. We definitely got vaccinated ASAP.

Calling it a day. I spent 11 hours on the road yesterday, trying to get out of Spokane. Interstate 90 was closed just west of downtown, and the alternate route was jam packed with a 50 mile detour around construction. Drove 200 miles before I could see the sun through the smoke.
