       @thomasfuchs didn't everyone (hyperbole) give up on neural networks for llm's and whatnot? neural networks always seem like one of those "in the next 10 years.." things, like ('cold') fusion, 'safe' nuclear (fwiw, i'm alright with nuclear, but would prefer wind/solar over it), (generalized) quantum computing, etc. ..gets humanity closer to 'the singularity', doesn't it? 🙄🤣 anyways, i'd be pretty happy if the money that is put into "AI" today were being put into neural network research instead.

       @stux it's a bummer. i do a lot of "youtube tourism", and (maybe not so) strangely, quite a bit of it is watching videos of/in the netherlands, and it's always so refreshing to see major cities (whole countries even!) that have some nice public transportation infrastructure; i think i'd enjoy being able to bicycle around (weather permitting) in such nice cities, were it an option! it's a shame about the pricing of housing/rental there, makes the dream of living there for me nearly impossible.
