@killyourfm Sir, gushing over a brand of cassette shows a level of geekery that I can only aspire to.

@penguin42 A little prosaic, I think, how about a 'constellation'.

@sean Oddly, I was just sitting here thinking pretty much the same thing.

@sean Mostly the "don't need them". I feel this is a new community, the ease of use issue is a good selection mechanism.

@killyourfm Having thought about it for a bit, I disagree. The point is about culture not mechanism.

@killyourfm Well, we're all confused.I guess what I'm saying is that I'm not at all sure that features should drive culture rather than the other way around. Err, maybe I do agree... OTOH, I'm kind of addicted to stats and often people don't obviously react to my stuff but I then find lots of people read it, so it would kind of nice to know.

@killyourfm I think there is a quasi-exentential Mastodon in the room. What are doing here? What are we making? Is it a cosy enclave for the enlightened ones?Or a genuine alternative that's attractive to the normals, and businesses.Genuine question, and I'm not sure I have a good answer.

@killyourfm I've been using it to make some political satire cartoons in the style of James Gilray. As he's been dead 200 years, I don't think he's going to complain.I guess all artists (or nearly all) borrow a huge amount from existing work, AI merely makes that borrowing accessible to all. SD doesn't really make anything new, just mashes up existing stuff. People make new things.

@killyourfm It occurs to me that many of the arguments against #AiArt and  #StableDiffusion are the same ones used against photography 150+ years ago.- It's not art- It's too easy- It's going to put artists out of business.

@killyourfm Having listen to a bit of the track on your profile, I'm not sure the logo makes me expect acoustic guitar
