a lot of my friends know me as a wise man. not that i have lived some remarkable life or anything, i have just been interested in theology since i was a whelp; i've picked up a lot of nuggets of truth that echo through the ages.last week, someone asked me how we survive the strife that's coming. you know that quote from Mr Rogers, 'look for the helpers'? i think if you want to help, you need to become one of the helpers. it's up to you how you do it. But people need help, and you got it.

Friendly reminder to the #nokings folks today — blur or scribble out peoples' faces before posting their sign online. Pictures that you put online will live forever, and you have no idea to what extent an image can go viral.Don't give authorities an inch. Facial recognition is basically a solved technology; don't be a metadata snitch.

Have you ever wondered what the world of MOTHER 2 looks like? Not a lot of people know that the second town in the game, Twoson, is actually supposed to be Tucson. Some other interesting mentions: Onett is in the PNW, Winters is Sweden (meaning, Jeff is Swedish), Scaraba is Saudi Arabia, and Summers is most likely Barcelona.#videogames #earthbound

My T-shirt is in UNIQLO stores! An actual dream come true! It's being sold immediately next to the collabs they did with *Keith Harring* and *Charles Schultz*. 🤯

It is difficult to describe what this achievement means to me. This is all I wanted and was working towards for decades. Wowza.

Dud, I just heard about Bsky requiring IDs for age in the UK, that is so frickin funny. I can feel it in my bones that this same dedign is coming to the US, too. We already have several states here that have laws on the state level that require porn sites to manage age verification through government-issued IDs.Feel free to boost me to Bsky through the bridge if you wish, but if you ask me, this coming to the US is inevitable.https://bsky.social/about/blog/07-10-2025-age-assurance

anyone wanna hear something cool? I work with a lot of VMs both as my hobby and in my work, and for the past 10 years or so i have been naming each one after a character or beast from LOTR.lately i had this notion that if i wanted to practice decolonial thought, maybe naming my machines after indigenous words and concepts might be a good start. my area was home to the lenne/lenape. i wanted to name my Particle Tachyon, and found that the Lenape word for “very small thing” is “tatchen.”

@futurebird hey, the history of printing is one of my special interests! they're called 'signatures' because, especially in the old days, books were printed onto full-sized, un-folded reams of paper called 'folios'. they would arrange the page so that when it is folded to suit, it forms the leafs and pages of a book.the printer would leave their 'signature' at the bottom of each page (aka, 1, 2, 3, 4 or A, B, C, D) so that when the page is folded properly, they are all in the same position.
