@lowqualityfacts …adding the quantum caveat “…but only if you neither measure it or observe it.”Now it’s true. You’re welcome.

@stux so…that’s art. I’d frame the diagram and hang both on the wall. It’s probably worth 10x whatever was paid. Damn good job.

@stux not far enough, not fast enough…outpacing the suckers and criminals for now. AI is the new hot grift now anyway…although if you let AI actually graph it…it would probably make some weird loop and then shoot sideways…

@ErikUden why? Mixing your ashes with gasoline, lye, and gelatin, putting it in a glass bottle, and throwing that at an Amazon warehouse would be wildly more effective…

@mastodonmigration …depends. On whether it is a business. A $mill a month loss is terrible for a business…but just a blip for a propaganda/influence machine. There are advertising/lobbying campaigns with drastically larger budgets than that.It could already be wildly successful…simply depending on where the goalposts are.

@jimsalter …Chinese battery jokes aside…nearly 80mph on an electric scooter of any kind is probably more dangerous than any resulting fire…particularly at (almost) twice the curb weight of a regular scooter. A Honda rebel motorcycle is under 400lbs. A Goldwing is 800 and that’ll make the trip to Florida. I hope it has amazing brakes or you’ll Wile E Coyote something. :)

@stux don’t take that tone of voice with me son. Ok, couple things…one LEGO is expensive, partially because they want to make money (lots) partially because they are a (largely) European company and provide a decent quality product. Also…you want it because it’s LEGO and cool…Also the instructions are on Rebrickable…you can just build it yourself with what you have plus a few trips to the LEGO store.

@stux @molly0xfff No…people are * voluntarily * moving from one mouse trap to another. I’m of a mixed opinion on this. People choosing is fine. What is being chosen is…suspect. Defiance to authority…particularly authority that is uninformed and corrupt is good.My take is this; Ticktock has “issues”. Ticktock didn’t get banned because of those issues. It was banned because it wasn’t under ‘their’ control. They care more about controlling Ticktock than fixing it.

@jimsalter @etchedpixels Huh? Ok…I’m confused (my natural state actually)…so there is a paywall…which requires WiFi/network to confirm you’ve paid?…for a battery? How would it check that if I didn’t have power and was simply running off of the same UPS? Or it doesn’t work without it since whatever ‘features’ are handled via a connection? What is the benefit…free replacement when it EOLs?

@jimsalter @etchedpixels …ok…so what is the hook? What keeps you (or someone) from re-enabling those features in some roundabout way?I’m thinking akin to BMW and the heated seats bs…where re-enabling it was, if not trivial, was certainly doable…the hook being they would be a dick about your warranty. John Deere was brick your tractor and sue you. Is this just the case that it will never do what it’s supposed to unless you pay for the unit and 5 years of monthly fees?

@stux …if you are going to propose…then propose. It’s either a yes or no. Get a simple gold ring and tell her that it is because you don’t want to wait forever. Tell her that she can have whatever you can manage but realistically there isn’t a ring good enough for what she means to you…even if the diamond was the size of a baseball. You’ll find it’s not the ring, but what the ring means is more important. Going on 13yrs of marriage…

@stux …ok. I’m going to give you a life lesson and a piece of advice.Lesson: The smart person knows that this world is broken down into shit that matters and shit that doesn’t. The wise person knows which is which.Life is simpler than you realize.By your own admission you’ve: been with her a long time…at least a year, went to her mom’s wedding, and asked total strangers their opinionYou’ve already made your decision. She matters. The rest is just personal obstacles to overcome.

@lowqualityfacts “…unfortunately all the paintings that were removed were forgeries as well. Most were sold off long ago to artificially keep the price of wine stable and prevent protests…at least extra protests. Some do remain, but are secreted to various secure locations within the French government. The Mona Lisa currently resides in Macron’s downstairs powder room.”
