it really is bizarre how bad it feels to have this modern macbook with a screamingly fast aarch64 cpu aaaand8gb of RAM1, aaa i'm always runnning out of ram2. since when did 2^33 become a small number? because firefox clearly thinks it's entitled to that

@azonenberg yeah my phone has more ram than my laptop which is, pretty irritatingif you're just consuming content it's acceptable as long as you're okay with encountering this dialogue once you open too many tabs

i bought this (the machine i am tooting on) mostly to do security research on, because it's apple silicon.. so i just got the base configurationbut then i ended up liking it as A Object. so now i have this laptop that i mostly love, great cpu, adequate gpu,but. i am cursed with........8gb of ram!

@nkizz @azonenberg yeah. I'd like to upgrade the 256g SSD, half the size of the $40 MicroSD I bought yesterday, but-oh, that is also still soldered (and they don't have the "signal integrity" excuse like they do for DRAM)

@qdot bevy and especially its ECS is my favorite offender in this category. most of the time things just work automagically via a collection of clever tricks. then you add an extra argument to a function, taking it from 8 to 9 arguments, and suddenly you get to enjoy a 200-line template error
