@GayDeceiver I left the church (Southern Baptist) when I was 16 and couldn’t reconcile the way the elders preached and how they acted towards the world. It took a few years but I found this to be a common practice of Christianity in the US. I retained my beliefs that God is mine. I simply don’t expect that attitude from others and certainly now in this century.

@stux Yah, me too. Using it a couple of weeks now and it works ok. Doesn’t support a lot of the nice functionality of #pixelfed but it is an early app… very early. I have hope as I take a lot of pictures on my iPhone these days. Some of my posts to pixey.org using the app

@stux Interesting note… In the US where there are lots of big vehicles the safety stats for them are actually worst than smaller cars due to messed up centers of gravity. If you want to be safer, stay out of the bigger vehicles.

COVID IS IN THE HOUSE!After a couple of years dodging it struck.Five jabs seems to have reduced symptoms.Interestingly enough, it is almost impossible to report to our local Public Health authorities. This is not unexpected as we live in a rural #NorCal county. Rural Boards of Supervisors do everything in their power to defund and suppress healthcare here.Its one of those things where they see zero value in keeping their constituents well and functional because, smaller govt is better

@aral One of my tender subject concerning Linux. It is built by techies for techies and not for your average user.Yes, someone probably got the app you want running on one of the 40,000 flavors of the distro you use so they felt justified packaging it for the distro. Will it work for most people? That is the ultimate question.I just put up a Debian media server and no one has a functional blu-ray player. Go figure. Only a million movies you can't watch...

@ErikUden Having worked in American Healthcare billing for >35 yrs I’d say all those figures are low. Remember, health insurance is a money making enterprise. It makes profit on denied claims not paid ones. Not sure why people claiming to understand #Capitalism rarely understand this. This is the primary reason I’ve advocated single payer gov’t healthcare for decades.

@stux So I use Vivaldi and my first use on any platform with it (I refuse to sync accounts to a central location) is to turn off almost everything. No Notes, no History, no sidebars, no Speed Dial, etc. Vivaldi's configurebility is also its most annoying feature.
