@enigmatico if you stick to c++ there **are** reasons to it including long-term support (whereas c++ killers would have few developers actually being decent with it).

@straw i hadn't slept for thirty hours or so and then finally went sleeping.woke up 5am in the morning fully recovered but then chose to continue the session and slept additional six hours.that was a nice 14 hour sleep though.and surprisingly my head didn't hurt as it usually does when i oversleep.

@enigmatico taduh packages and switching to other language. now, alike to what @icedquinn pointed out, what if you actually propose some c++ killer as an alternative but your team leader or just same rank colleagues say "no let's use c# i don't know that-c++-killer-you-proposed".i would say c++ is still around because of the enterprise mostly.

@enigmatico @icedquinn some of these free software were created when killers did not exist.what about hobbyist projects -- kinda they don't really think about "why would I not use c++ for my hobbyist project that will barely give me something in return? i just enjoy programming and wanna fulfill my joy"it's like you can even use k&r C or just stick to fortran, algol or smalltalk because you are not going to extract any value from what you are going to write.but when it comes to it then you actually trying to weight pros and cons.if somebody is reading this and uses a "c++ killer" please elaborate on what does your language have and what has been written in it -w-

despite the fact that i've been programming in c for years only now i found out that integer overflow and similar stuff is not defined for signed integers only because logically only unsigned integers are well-defined to allow doing many useful bitwise operations.how did that sneak through me i wonder.

discipline rules the worldnever has motivation ruled instead.if you ever feel exhausted and unsure of your skill you must continue persistently.this is how you can reach anything.like everything.

@Shiroyasha what about building discipline?this is very a thing that helps me everyday. sometimes it is what actually builds the local motivation afterwards.as my friends says, remember that motivation is temporal but discipline is immortal.

@gav @Shiroyasha yes, this is absolutely true.some people have learned to fight their anxiety or emotions overall and they are the ones who we call "strong".some people are devoid of such blocking emotions since they are born. this is due to diseases or unique mutations that are hardly classified as an illness.so to say, society taught us to lose, it was not nature. moreover it gave some of us the pleasant peace where you could do anything that your body wants but it's all nice until you meet someone who is different.motivation is irresponsible. discipline is the basis for success. even those who claim that they weren't disciplined or acquired something without much effort, check out how they did it. it was either luck or the hidden effort they don't notice because fortunately for them it was not the tedium of repeatedness they were struggling with.therefore if someone wants to become stronger, he needs discipline. everything else comes after.

@crystal @Shiroyasha @gav it is enough for the burst to extinguish before it brings to productivity or just enough for a person to get stuck in this perpetual loop of absorption. if people resist discipline they just struggle with it and that is okay because this is one of the key points of how it works. there is no such thing as innate inability to do everything by the numbers.motivation is great but it is not guaranteed to bring you to a result you need. it is very effective to combine both since this surplus in zeal makes you push harder.mentioning that highly motivated individuals can surpass highly disciplined ones is bound to specific context and is rare and short in terms of time. everyone that i met who is a specialist in any imaginable field has got their achievements because of the hard work they put into it and the discipline which helped them struggle with problems arising. motivation only came along or was built in the process.
