Lately I've been seeing this trend on the Fedi of people being boosted, asking for money. They usually include their race, sexual orientation, any disability they have or political alignment. Something about it just doesn't sit right with me.

I hate it when developers build something and people reply with, "why are you building this, we already have other software that does this". That's like asking an artist why they're painting a sunset when there are 1000's of works with sunsets. Let developers take joy in their work without caring if someone has already done it.#programming #foss

The funniest thing I've seen all day is a screenshot of posts on X, with people complaining about the horrible choices being made over there. What's funny is that each person had a blue checkmark next to their name lol. They are literally paying for that hell hole AND being served ads. 😂

I had to delete my obviously upset post yesterday about the admin of the instances that shut down. I had to think.. even if it was negligence.. we all make mistakes and I can only imagine how hurt they must be. It's just text posts that were lost and they shouldn't feel attacked because of it.

@rolle The real questions are... does Mastodon really need everyone here? Should we be trying to get everyone on Mastodon?Right now Mastodon fits a very specific audience and that's a good thing. It won't be everyone's cup of tea and that's totally cool.I hope more social media platforms pop up and give people options, like the internet was decades ago.

Day 2 of more #PeerTube app design for my upcoming app called "PeerTuber". Progress:- I'm hitting the public APIs returning data from a single instance - Coming up with a base design so I can work around it during development. The app will have multiple themes. Every time I see block lists being shared I'm teleported back to elementary when the teacher picked someone to "take names" while she left the room. Then all the kids would argue when someone's name was added to the list. That's been mastodon for the last month or 2.

For the past few days I've been working on the comments section for my #PeerTube app. When I started, I was like.... "oh this will be the easiest part of the app to build". :ms_straight_face: PeerTube does threading for comments like Reddit which doubled the estimate on how long it would take.But on the bright side the app now has a Reddit-like comments display system with thread lines to the left that can be themed and customized. Gonna commit that to the github today or tomorrow.

I'm so glad my Grandmother (rest her soul) made me read books as a kid. I remember one of the first books I read was "Animal Farm". That story kinda changed my life.. and today that story is even more relevant.

I'm SO pissed off with GoDaddy. I tried transferring my domain to a different registrar and it was supposed to be a smooth transition. That did not happen.
