@stux I think a wait an see approach makes the most sense, and it's what I'm planning on my instance. Blocking with the tools available isn't going to stop Meta from getting anything, and will just make it seem more confusing to the users. The way I see it, maybe P92 will bring more people to Fedi, and we can offer them options outside Meta, or it will turn out to be bad, and we block it then. Blocking it now doesn't gain us much, and wastes whatever opportunity there is there.

@J12t A few things:1. Many people here don't want to be part of any commercial social media, regardless of whether it's Twitter or not.2. It doesn't have to be a winner take all competition. Twitter was never the largest SM. Also, most people here don't make money doing this, so no one here is being squeezed out.3. If they do federate, people can interact with people there, but with no ads, and no invasive tracking. That may pull people here from there.

@argv_minus_one Not a widespread option, but @GrapheneOS offers PIN scramble. Each time the PIN screen is offered the numbers are in different positions. Reeks havoc with muscle memory, but once you're used to it it's not that difficult.
