@simon I’ve a simple, 1 line, fix for a bug/feature in sqlite-utils. Would you prefer I create an issue first, or are you alright with just a PR to address it?

@simon That’s issue #599 and PR #600 submitted! I think I’ve probably over explained a 1 line fix, but hopefully you get the gist of it.

#Tesco are having a bit of a moment. Looks like my afternoon’s plans are now battling my way round the local store. “We're really sorry we’ve had to cancel your order today and for the inconvenience this will have caused. We work very hard to deliver to our customers, but unfortunately, this time something has gone wrong.”Can’t wait to see how busy it’s going to be if they’ve cancelled half the nation’s deliveries on a Sunday afternoon!

Nothing, and I mean _nothing_ will get you *plinked* in to my block list faster than this behaviour. Do these sales drones really think that the third, or even the fourth message will make me more likely to buy from them?Replying to your own email each time makes the final attempt look like pretty pathetic begging. A massive turn-off in a potential supplier!

It’s days like today I wish I occasionally compromised on my “don’t use tracking, definitely don’t use Google Analytics” principles. My VanMoof blog from September, https://mikecoats.com/vanmoof-back-to-life-part-1/, has had no comments at all. Until today, when it got two within an hour.I wish I knew where they came from. Twitter, Mastodon, Reddit? Who knows? It must have been posted or shared somewhere, surely, or is it just a co-incidence?

@stfn Totally agree. 90% of my blog posts are really just notes for me to refer back to later.

@foone That’s got a strong InstallShield smell.I had a boss back in the 64bit transition days that used Autodesk’s Autosketch for all their drawing, including all of their house’s architectural plans. It refused to install on 64bit Windows, but an installation copied across from a 32bit machine ran just fine.

A big shout out to @stfn and their excellent post, https://stfn.pl/blog/52-published-my-first-python-package-to-pypi/, about their experience publishing their first PyPI package. That definitely tipped the scales and convinced me finish something "well enough" to get it published.

I’m unreasonably excited about this. We’ve ordered a new digital thermometer and when I went to insert the batteries I spotted six little golden pads in the battery bay. What secrets lie behind those pins? Can my new thermometer run Doom?

@mmeier The context of why you’ve included the image is often more important than narrating its contents. Would you expect sighted viewers to examine the individual graphs in the image, or understand it represents a dashboard which you will go on to talk about in detail?
