@sneak Your Sony camera (A7S III?) might also support proxy encoding at capture, that way you don't have to spend time transcoding when you're back to your computer.

@sneak You're right, a proxy workflow usually works the best if you let the program handle proxy generation. I'm not too good with Resolve though, so can't how well it works hooking up proxy with original. I work almost exclusively in Premiere (required for work).

@oppen @vincib @bortzmeyer Sorry for going OT. I don't quite follow the Gemini no tracking pixels argument. Wouldn't the logical solution to this be to allow first-party (served from same host as the current page) images only? Seems like throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

@ocean I had one of these. Physically that would probably fit, Micro-ITX without a doubt. The CRT uses shitloads of precious space.

@pleiades @JohanEmpa Haha, WTF. Watching Die Hard 1 with a single narrator with zero expression is one of my most prominent memories from visiting Poland about thirty years ago. First the news about the abortion ban and now this! 😳

@joacim Welcome! I've been running Lineage and CopperheadOS without Google Play Services for years. Signal APK can be downloaded from the Signal site and will self update without the need for any app "store". Swedish semi-must haves such as Swish and Bank ID can be installed via the above mentioned Aurora. I use Shelter from F-droid to put these (and other proprietary) apps in a separate work profile that does not share contacts, file system etc.

@joacim Aurora uses a shared Google Account for all users, so that sometimes messes things up. You can use another account if you wish. There's also https://f-droid.org/packages/taco.apkmirror

@sneak Convert those to WOFF2 (which is supported basically everywhere) and you will probably see a dramatic decrease in size.

@PINE64 Oh crap. I bought a new Chinese surveillance handset the other day and I'm currently jumping through hoops to install Lineage on it. Don't tell me this is a PinePhone with a decent CPU... I wanted to get the PinePhone for GloDroid use, but it judging from YouTube videos it didn't look like there was enough computing power for Android.

@angristan Spotify is not fine. They're actively trying to appropriate podcasting so that Spotify will be the *only* client for podcasts (which they will probably rebrand). I love AntennaPod, it's available on F-droid. gPodder works well on desktop.
