       This isn't exactly a shocker. It's just how Canadian immigration system has always been. They're more focused on family ties and age when compared to work experience. For instance, if you're 25 years old or have a family member in Canada, you'll get +100 points.        I was in #Canada for a few weeks this year, in #Alberta, #Saskatchewan, and #Manitoba, and I talked to a lot of people from all sorts of social groups. Most of the recent newcomers came to Canada because they're young or have relatives there. A lot of them have university degrees, but most of them can't find work with their diploma.

       This isn't really a shocker, let's take an example of a 25 year old person who has just graduated in IT in India, passed IELTS exam with good marks (more points if wife/husband has same skills). Why should IT company hire him in #Canada when they can hire person with literally same skills in India but 5-7 times cheaper?
