@meatlotion @davidbcohen @sarajw the calendar I'm opening is a tea advent calendar. I still have 15+ tea pouches left from last year so I suspect those 5 days will be spent drinking more tea than I can possibly handle 😅

Working in a different building away from all the managers means I'm home from work early and already in bed with a cup of tea at 1pm.Tiredness is the name of the day so this cheeky slice of rest is rather nice.

My parents have an alexa kettle that can only be turned on by speaking to alexa or using an app.So I can have tea as long as they have a wifi connection.Welcome to the 21st century.

Does anyone have any literature on why having these listening devices in your house is a bad idea? My instinct is "it's obviously bad just cos" but that isn't exactly helpful.

After about 4 hours, it's just stopped raining. I can see the sky.This is probably because we're about to hit Yorkshire and that is the BEST. None of this "it's grim up north" nonsense.I can see the sky!

#3GoodThings - When I get back from work tomorrow I can just lie down and not move for 16 hours if that's what I want. I will be free of obligation for a short time.- I made good choices. Present!Helen wanted to do the things but we agreed that Future!Helen would prefer it if we didn't. We were right!- A warm bed. Oh wait! The bestest bonus of a 4th thing that was absolutely the highlight of my day (possibly of my whole life):- I met Monty, a 14 year old cocker spaniel. He was dozing in the middle of the public sitting room in this hotel. He looked at me and I looked back so I let him sniff me. I passed the test. Pets were provided. I sat down on a sofa. Then Monty stood up and plodded over to me for belly rubs. This lasted about an hour. He fell asleep with me stroking him. His humans said he loves people and that he would stay there all night. I would die for Monty.

We don't use candles or smelly things in the house so we can protect Jenkins' respiratory system. Instead, I put this candle on the radiator and then I know when the heating is on. I love it.

It's Jenkins' 2nd birthday today.I won't get to see him until this afternoon but his birthday treat is "the really good hay".
