Anyone here familiar with the #Peertube API?According to the docs there should be an endpoint that gets the ‘comments threads' of a video, but that API only appears to get top-level comments. Related to the above: Does anyone have a list of the most common Fediverse services, ideally with 'marketshare’ (of active users, or something like that)?Context being that FediFetcher now supports a dozen services (any that implement the Mastodon, Misskey, Lemmy, or Peertube APIs), and I'm wondering what other services would be valuable to implement.#FediFetcher #Fediverse #fediadmin #mastoadmin

I’m incredibly proud of my oldest son who has qualified for a very selective Grammar School! He worked extremely hard studying for the test, and it's been amazing to watch him grow in this!#parenting

However, I now have to fill in the registration form for that school, and it’s the second hardest form I’ve ever filled in - topped only by the form I had to fill in when I applied for naturalisation!First they want 3 people’s contact details for emergency. But - as I assume most kids, unless something changed in how we make kids recently that I wasn't aware of - he has only two parents 🤷♂️

Then they want a mountain of documents that - again - is only surpassed in size by the amount of documents I had to send in when I got naturalised. All just to prove my and his address. It's really absurd to request all of this just to get into secondary school!Probably the most absurd of all, though, is that they want the GP Registration Confirmation letter. Now, we moved into our current home all the way back in 2017. And even I - being a very organised German - don't keep documents for such a long time! So I don't have it anymore.The whole thing is just totally over the top for a school place…

Over the last 24 or so hours I've been subject to a harassment campaign where people have encouraged me to kill myself, and/or called me racist and homophobic slurs, and/or accused me of pedophilia.Most of the abuse came from a small number of instances:nicecrew[.]digitalshit[.]poster[.]placeparcero[.]casa(The last one actually has multiple abusive instances under multiple two-letter-subdomains - I recommend blocking the apex.)As these instances are all dedicated to 'free speech’, 'satire’, or ‘shit-posting’ (as we all know these terms are all synonymous with abuse) I would recommend a fediblock on these instances, if you don't already block them.(If anyone is curious: This all started because someone spread the rumour that FediFetcher doesn't respect robots.txt. Time for a rant: I hate school uniforms!Firstly as a matter of principle I believe we should be teaching kids some level of individuality. Not uniformity. Especially teenagers.

Secondly as a matter of practice, they are insanely expensive. I just bought my eldest’s first set of secondary school uniform. I haven’t even bought it all yet (still need to get shoes, trainers, and football boots) and spent over £300 already.

The school uniform itself isn’t even so bad, but the PE kit is insane:Shorts, T-Shirt, rugby shorts, rugby shirt, tracksuit bottom, tracksuit top, dark socks, and striped socks - all from the monopoly supplier. Plus trainers and football boots, mouth guard and shin pad, which - oh how generous - we may buy elsewhere…It’s ridiculous. And this for a kid who isn’t into sports.

My son was telling me (unsurprisingly, given the amounts) that several of his friends’ parents were really struggling with the cost of the uniform. Surely that can’t be right. That parents need to get a loan to pay for their kids school uniforms!So yeah, in summary: I hate school uniforms!
