@moth @georgia i get that, but…linux is easy to figure out, but all the normie software is some hellish garbage that treats you like an idiot and there’s just very little hope of troubleshooting it without hours of guessworkand i am just done with that

i like the communi irc client, both on sailfish and on desktopit’s got ircv3 features and i don’t know how its UI could be better. does exactly what i need. no terminal elitism and no frills, but designed to help keep track of many channels with minimal distraction.

need to exchange some document files for work that must be editable in microsoft office and i cannot do it with libreoffice.odt? microsoft won’t import it correctlydocx? libreoffice’s writer is too brokendoc? libreoffice’s writer is non-deterministic and it can’t read its own files reliably eitherguess it’s back to WPS for this

also xrandr scaling makes libreoffice crash randomly if the mouse cursor ends up in the wrong spot10/10 quality software, you can definitely tell it’s a well-funded project that has been in development for decades with several companies and governments contributing to it

@vriska i quit cold turkey. still carry a pack and lighter for emergencies™ but i haven’t had any in the past two weekswasn’t even a heavy smoker (maybe one or two cigs a day) but it still gave me a permanently sore throat and made me look older
