       @simon That phrasing reminded me of another area that is considered too dangerous for most - rolling your own crypto. Haven't thought about it in too much depth but maybe there are similarities in terms of failures being non-obvious unless you are skilled in the field, lots of sharp edges and places you can make mistakes that don't even feel that risky, and the catastrophic consequences of failure!
