Ah, the subtle indignities of Trump's tariff stupidity... went to order some Neder-hop/-pop albums from my favorite Dutch label. Presumably because of the bureaucratic crap they need to jump through even without a tariff in effect, shipping for two CDs cost... $27. It used to be closer to $6.It's like, what, am I supposed to buy American-made Nederhop? Last time I checked we didn't have our own Dutch-language rappers... or is there some "New Amsterdam" scene I'm missing out on?

@MisterMadge @ai6yr @ShiitakeToast @mattblaze That Cleveland scene is practically identical to Milwaukee’s setup—a similar underdeveloped downtown-adjacent lakefront zone (now part of the Summerfest grounds) hosted missiles too. https://emke.uwm.edu/entry/nike-anti-aircraft-missiles/

@ai6yr @MisterMadge @ShiitakeToast @mattblaze They were super widespread at the peak of the Nike program—pretty much every major airbase, port city, and industrial center was ringed by them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nike_missile_sites
